Alexander Kalinnikov

Head of Innovations Department, ERG Research and Engineering Centre

Alexander heads the Department of Innovation Management at the ERG Research and Engineering Center. He is responsible for developing and implementing an innovation strategy aimed at creating and commercializing new ideas that create additional value and synergy with an existing business.

Prior to joining the Center, Alexander worked for three years in the Venture Department of VTB Capital Asset Management in Moscow, where he was responsible for finding promising projects, creating new funds and working with the current portfolio of hi-tech projects in the USA, Canada, the UK, Russia and Kazakhstan. Prior to this, Alexander worked for eight years at RUSNANO, where he was engaged in the search for innovative projects, transaction structuring and business development of portfolio companies in the field of renewable energy, energy storage, electronics, mechanical engineering, metals & mining. Alexander also worked at the NLMK Corporate Development Department (Novolipetsk Steel), at Deloitte Consulting and was a startup tracker at IIDF (Internet Initiatives Development Fund).
